Adams Produce welcomes K&D Produce

Birmingham, AL (May 7, 2008) – Adams Produce, a leading fresh produce distributor servicing the Southeast United States, announced today that K&D Produce will be merging with Adams Produce operation in Tallahassee, FL (Chapman Produce). The combined entity will be named “Adams Produce Tallahassee”.

K&D Produce was founded by Co-Founders Keith Chapman and Dan Bruijn in 1984. K&D built a highly reputable company servicing foodservice customers and wholesalers in Tallahassee with fresh fruits and vegetables. “We believe with the present market conditions: fuel prices, government regulation, etc. and the need for greater investment in facilities and equipment, partnering with Adams will provide the resources for a more dynamic market presence going forward, “explained Dan Bruijn. “We are proud of the business and team we have assembled at K&D and feel confident that the merger with Adams will allow for tremendous growth opportunities for all involved,” said Keith Chapman.

Scott Grinstead, Chief Executive Officer of Adams, stated, “We are very excited to have Keith, Dan and the Team Members of K&D join the Adams Team. Their experience and entrepreneur spirit will compliment our existing Tallahassee business and bring fresh ideas to the total company that will lead us into the future. K&D Produce has been a respected competitor in the market and together the combined company will be the leader in produce distribution for Tallahassee and the surrounding markets in North Florida”.
