BIRMINGHAM, AL October 6, 2008 – Adams Produce, a leading fresh produce distribution specialist servicing foodservice customers throughout the Southeast United States, announced today that it has named Mary Anderson as Director of Human Resources and Dave Kirkland as Director of Purchasing. Both positions will be located in Birmingham, Alabama.

Ms. Anderson joins Adams Produce with 20 years of Human Resource experience, including a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. She most recently served as the Director of Human Resources for Tennessee Bun Company, and also held an Executive HR position for Overton Distributors, Inc. Part of her 13 years with Overton included management responsibilities for Produce Alliance, LLC.
Mr. Kirkland comes to Adams Produce with a substantial resume of over 16 years in the produce industry. For the past three years, he served as Client Service Director for Pro*Act LLC where he was responsible for managing new and existing multi-unit customer programs. Prior to Pro*Act, Mr. Kirkland spent 13 years with Fresh America / DiMare Fresh in a number of key management roles including Corporate Director of Purchasing, Corporate Director of National Programs and General Manager of the DiMare Fresh Dallas location.
