Miles McMath, Executive Chef at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Awarded United Fresh 2009 Produce Excellence in Foodservice Award
Birmingham, AL (March 31, 2009) – Miles McMath, Senior Executive Chef at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee has been selected by United Fresh as the winner for the 2009 Produce Excellence in Foodservice in the Hotels & Healthcare category. The award, sponsored by Pro*Act LLC, honors chefs and their companies for innovative use of fresh produce in the culinary arts.

Though Chef McMath has an extensive resume in the culinary industry, his latest project has been Kay Kafe, a new dining facility at St. Jude that includes 16 food stations featuring not only locally grown produce, but also a multicultural menu selection reflecting the diversity of St. Jude patients and staff.
“At St. Jude, it’s important for us to balance fun and inviting menu items for our patients with the health component that is necessary for their recovery. Adams has been a wonderful partner with us in working to include local and specialty produce items as well as fresh, quality fruits and vegetables on a daily basis,” said McMath. “I was honored that Adams thought of me for this award, and thrilled to be one of the winners. Winners from all five categories, along with their corporate executives, will be honored during an awards dinner at the United Fresh 2009 Convention, April 21 thru 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
